Our Week

Dear Families,

The phrase, " Time sure flies by when you are having fun!" applies to this week!  I can't believe the week is already over.

Highlights:

Making penguin out of bottles with our buddies!  These turned out darling. They will be able to bring them home on Monday after drying really good.

Making ourselves at 100 years old.  The kids thought this was funny. They also made a list of 5 things they want to do before they are 100 years old. They are super cute and will be hung up for grandparents to see next week.  Reminder that if your grandparents are unable to make it, the children are welcome to bring a parent instead.

We made our Valentine bags this afternoon.  The kids are excited to finish their Valentine's at home this weekend and bring them to school next week to pass out to their friends.

We started talking about Dental Health this week. I hope your child brought home their toothbrush chart and that you have it hanging in the bathroom to check off.  We watched a movie about the correct way to brush and floss. Then we used marshmallows to make teeth so we could practice flossing.   These will come home today with your child.  We read a story about the Tooth Fairy and then did a little writing about what we think she does with all of the teeth.

Mr. Grotte visited on Monday and gave the kids banks to start saving their money.  The lesson that he taught the children was on saving.  They really enjoy when he comes. This coming Monday will be his last visit.

Our new sight words are: here and where

Word family: et words like pet, bet, met, get, set, net, vet, wet

We finished up Unit 3 in math and will be taking the test next week.  We learned words like first, second, third, etc.  The kids told math what if stories and we practiced 5 groups.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Enjoy the new snow!
